Keeping Girls in Sport module

Keeping Girls in Sport is for organizations, coaches and leaders who coach or mentor girls and women. Estimated time to complete this program is 90 minutes.

In partnership with the Coaching Association of Canada and the Canadian Association for the Advancement of Women in Sport, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities developed Keeping Girls in Sport with the subject matter expertise of Dr. Vicki Harber, professor emeritus in the faculty of physical education and recreation at the University of Alberta. Throughout this course, we often reference girls in a general sense, based on findings from Dr. Harber’s research. We recognize that all girls are different, with unique motivators, barriers, and coaching needs. The principles outlined in this course serve as a foundation, and are not intended to be prescriptive, rather we encourage you to build your program based on the specific needs of the girls you lead.
