Other Skills:

Coordination
Set up:
Divide participants into 2 or 3 teams; teams should have around 8-10 participants each. One team will start as the dribbling team, and the other team(s) will be the rolling team(s).
Set up two rolling lines and two lines for the dribbling team. Please see attached document for an example of the set up.
The two rolling lines could be the lines going length wise in the gym, or if using cones, place them around 25 feet away from each other.
The starting line and finish line for the dribbling team should be around 35 feet around from each other (or so); the 4 lines will form a rectangle.
Place the soccer balls behind the starting line for the dribbling team.
Give at least 1 hoop to each participant on the rolling team(s).
Step by Step:
1. The dribbling team will start at the starting line with the soccer balls.
2. The rolling team will start behind both rolling lines. If there are 3 teams, then one team will stand behind one line and the other team will stand behind the other line.
3. The goal for the dribbling team, is for each participant to dribble one soccer ball at a time from their starting line to the finish line.
4. The goal for the rolling team, is to roll the hoops towards the dribbling team and try to hit a participant or a soccer ball.
5. How to roll a hoop: Have participants put a flat palm on the hoop and then roll is forward towards the dribbling team. Ensure they are not throwing the hoops or rolling them too hard.
6. The dribbling team has to dodge and avoid getting hit by a hoop and protect their ball from getting hit as well.
7. This will encourage participants to keep the ball close to them and to keep it under control at all times.
8. If a participant on the dribbling team, or their ball, gets hit by a hoop, then they have to dribble back to the start and go again.
9. When a participant makes it to the finish line with their soccer ball, they leave the ball there and run back to the starting line. If they get hit by a hoop while running to the other side, then they have to run back to the finish line, touch the floor, and then try to run to the starting line again. When they make it to the starting line, they take another soccer ball and go again.
10. Rolling team participants can collect the hoops after they've been rolled, however, they have to go back behind the rolling line before they can roll again.
11. Play for a set amount of time, or until the dribbling team has brought all the balls to the finish line.
12. Switch roles!
Variations:
Play with foam balls instead of hoops, and participants have to roll the foam balls. Or the rolling team will be the "kicking team", and they kick soccer balls to the dribbling team, trying to hit their ball or the participants below the knee.
Dribbling team can be dribbling with tennis balls or dribbling basketballs (with their hands of course).
The rolling team will only stand on one side.
