Collect and Steal All the Eggs

Skill: Hop, Run
Time Required: 25
Activity Type: Physical
Group Size: Large Group
Age Group: 6 - 9yrs, 9 - 12yrs, 13+ yrs
Play area: Gymnasium (large indoor space), Outdoor - Field
Safety Considerations: Remove any safety hazards from the play area.
Remind participants to always keep their heads up and be aware of their surroundings.
Equipment: Beanbags or plastic eggs, one colour for each team and an equal amount of each colour (Approximately 10-12 per team).
2 hoops per team.
Objective:
For participants to collect all their eggs before the other teams.
Other Skills:
Endurance
Speed
Set up:
Divide participants into groups of 5-6 players (try to have around 3-4 teams) and designate them a colour egg.
Have a home base (homebasket), for each team and set them up at different parts of the play area, don't have them too close to each other.
Put all the beanbags or plastic eggs (same number of colours as teams) around the play area.
If possible, try to have them hidden throughout the play area.
Step by Step:
1. Each team will designate one participant to be the Easter Bunny.
2. The rest of the participants on the team are the sidekick bunnies.
3. Each team will start at their homebasket, where there will be two hoops. One for their coloured eggs and one for the other colours.
4. On the word 'Go', the sidekick bunnies will run to where the eggs (or beanbags) are located.
5. Each team can select one participant to start as the defender of their area.
6. When they pick up an egg they hold it on their head and hop up and down like a bunny and they can call the name of their Easter Bunny. The Easter Bunny on their team has to tag them in order for them to be free.
7. Once they are tagged, they have to keep the egg on their head, but they can run to their homebasket.
8. Once they get there, they drop the egg into their own hoop, if it is their team's colour, or in the other hoop if it's another team's colour.
9. However, on their run over, if they are tagged by any other player, they have to drop the egg and hop on the spot. When their Easter Bunny tags them, they are free. They can pick up the egg they dropped (if it's still there and wasn't taken by another sidekick bunny), or run to get another egg.
10. Participants can steal their own coloured eggs from other team's hoops, however as soon as they pick it up, they can be tagged. Hence why having someone stay near the homebasket and defend it is important.
11. They cannot steal eggs from team's hoops with their own colours. They can only steal their own colour from other team's hoops.
12. The team that gets all their eggs in their own hoop first wins!
13. Or, after a designated amount of time, the team with the most eggs in their own hoop, wins.
14. Easter Bunnies cannot pick up any eggs, they can only tag their sidekick bunnies or tag other players to freeze them.
15. Participants can only be tagged by other teams when they have an egg.
Variations:
Don't have it Easter themed, could have a mama or papa kangaroo as the Easter Bunny and Joeys as the sidekick bunnies and they are collected treasure.
When a participant is tagged by another team, they have to drop their egg and then run back to their homebasket and do 10 jumping jacks before rejoining the game.
Participants can be tagged even if they don't have an egg.

Adaptations (General):
Try to be as clear as possible in explaining this activity, and encourage participants with disabilities to take part to the extent that they can, recognizing that they may lack comparable balance, coordination and endurance.
