Equipment: A beanbag, pylon or base per participant.
Objective:
For the participant in the centre to find and stand on a vacant place.
Other Skills:
Speed
Set up:
Have the beanbags, pylons or bases placed in a wide circle; each one represents a home.
Have all participants, except for one, standing on a home. The other participant will be standing in the centre of the circle. Therefore, there will be one vacant home.
Step by Step:
1. On the word 'Go', the participant in the centre will try to get to a vacant home.
2. The participants on the outside will continuously move around to try to prevent the participant in the centre from standing on a vacant home.
3. Participants can run wherever they wish, and participants can only stay on a home for a brief amount of time.
4. When the participant in the centre finally gets to a vacant home, the leader will select another participant to go in the centre.
5. If a participant does not move from their home after being warned by the leader, then they automatically go in the centre.
6. Add another vacant home and another participant in the centre to make it more difficult for the participants to protect the homes.
Variations:
Participants on the homes can only hop from one home to another.
Each participant has a tennis ball, and pylons are used as the homes. Participants have to place the tennis ball on top of the pylon in order to be safely there. If the participant in the centre manages to knock over a pylon when there is no tennis ball on top, they win.

Adaptations (Blindness/Visual Impairment):
Have another participant guide those who are blind or visually impaired.

Adaptations (Mobility Impairment):
Consider allowing participants with a mobility limitation some additional time to stay "at home," as needed.
