Equipment: Football
3-4 pylons
Objective:
For participants to put their pylon in the correct location to be knocked down by the football.
Set up:
Divide the participants into groups of 3-4.
Participants will stand at one end of the gym or play area.
The leader or a participant will have the football and stand at the other side of the gym, or around 25 meters away from the teams.
Step by Step:
1. One team will have the pylons (one per participant on the team).
2. They will stand in front of the other teams and closer to the midway point between the teams and the thrower.
3. When the leader or participant with the football says "Go", they will throw the football high in the air and towards the centre of the gym, or in between them and the teams.
4. The team with the pylons will run to just behind where they believe the football will land and put their pylon where they feel the ball will bounce/roll to.
5. The goal is for the football to knock over one (or more) of their pylons.
6. Participants have 3 seconds or so to put their pylon down and then run to the side or to the back, to get out of the of the football.
7. The football cannot land on the pylon, it has to hit the ground first before it can knock over a pylon, so it's important for the participants to guess where it will land and how it will bounce/roll.
8. They get a point for each pylon knocked over.
9. They will give they pylons to the next team and the leader or participant will throw again.
10. Depending on the skill level of the participants, one participant from each team could be the thrower for their team.
11. Play until one team has a set amount of points or until each team has gone a set amount of times.
Variations:
Each participant gets two pylons.
One participant from each team will get a pylon for each round.
The football can land on the pylon.
Have the thrower stand closer.
Give each participant a hoop instead, and the football has to roll and land in a hoop.
