Equipment: Buckets

Water
Pylons (optional)
Objective:
Participants squeeze the water out of their sponge into a bucket and try to fill their bucket up the quickest.
Fundamental Skills: (Optional)
Set up:
Divide participants into groups of 3-5 participants.
Have 1 bucket filled with water for each group and a cup or smaller bucket that is empty.
Place these two buckets around 15 feet apart from each other.
Have 1 sponge per participant or 1 sponge per group.
Step by Step:
1. The goal for each group and each participant is to soak their sponge in the bucket filled with water and then run to the bucket or cup that is across from that bucket and squeeze as much water as they can from their sponge into the empty bucket/cup.
2. The first group/participant to fill their cup/bucket or fill it to a certain line, wins!
3. Have participants skip, jump, walk/run backwards, do lunges or other types of movements to get from one bucket to the other.
4. If there is only one sponge per group, have each participant take turns soaking the sponge and then filling up the bucket.

Throw and Catch:
1. Place 2-3 pylons between the two buckets.
2. One participant will stand at the first bucket, one at each pylon and one at the other bucket.
3. The first participant will soak the sponge, and then throw it to the participant at the first pylon.
4. That participant will catch the sponge and then throw it to the next participant. When the last participant catches the sponge, they'll squeeze as much water as they can into the bucket.
5. Then, they will run to the first bucket, and the other participants will all move up a spot.
6. Continue until one team fills up their cup/bucket.
7. If a participant drops the sponge, they either have to throw it back to the participant who just threw it to them, or they pick it up and continue.
8. Or after the last participant squeezes the water from the sponge into the bucket, they will toss the sponge back to the participant at the closest pylon, and they will toss it to the next participant, and so on until the first participant has the sponge. They will put the sponge in the water and continue the process again.
Variations:
Add food colouring to the water to make it a colourful relay!
Use wash clothes or another object instead of sponges.
Have one participant from each group stand at the bucket/cup they are trying to fill. The other participants have to throw their wet sponge from behind a throwing line to that participant at the bucket.
