Equipment: Paper plates
Popsicle sticks
Marker, pencil crayons, crayons
Glue/tape

Objective:
Participants create their very own racquet using paper plates and popsicle sticks and play balloon racquet ball.

Set up:
Have the racquet materials prepared for participants (paper plates, markers, pencil crayons, popsicle sticks, glue/tape).
Step by Step:
1. Participants will create and decorate their very own racquet.
2. They will take a paper plate and draw or write anything on both sides.
3. Have participants draw or write something that goes along with a theme of the week, or their favourite things, their favourite sports, animals and so on.
4. They will tape/glue a popsicle stick to the back of the paper plate.
5. Their racquets are now ready to be played with.
6. Divide participants into pairs or groups of four.
7. Using lines on the gym floor or cones, create a line that divides the teams.
8. They will hit a balloon back and forth over the line/cones.
9. Allow each side two hits before it has to go over the line.
10. Have two balloons in play.
11. If a balloon hits the ground then the other team gets a point.
12. Play in pairs and they try to have the most consecutive hits without the balloon hitting the ground.
Variations:
Have participants choose a country and they decorate their racquet like that country's flag.
Pairs try to juggle two balloons.
