Pylons/rope for boundaries.
Objective:
For the "rolling" team to collect beanbags from one side of the gym and bring it back to their starting zone, without getting hit by the foam balls that are being thrown by the "throwing" team.
Other Skills:
Log Roll
Underhand roll
Speed
Agility
Set up:
Divide the participants into 2 teams.
Use one of the length-wise lines of the gym as the throwing line for the "throwing" team, or use pylons/rope to create a throwing line.
Set up and space out 2-3 mats on the other side of the gym.
Place 2-3 hoops on the left side of each mat.
Use the width-wise lines of the gym as boundaries/safe zones for the "rolling" team, or use pylons to create the boundaries/safe zones.
On one side, place a pile of beanbags behind the line. The other side is the "starting zone", and this is where the "rolling" team starts and where they place their beanbags.
Please see attached document for example of set up.
Step by Step:
1. Select one team to start as the "rolling" team, and the other will start as the "throwing" team.
2. The rolling team will start in the "Stating Zone".
3. The throwing team starts behind the throwing line (opposite side as the mats). Each thrower starts with a dodge ball, and have extras behind them as well.
4. See attached document for example of set up and zones/lines.
5. The goal for the rolling team is to run to the first set of hoops, jump in each hoop, and then do a log rolls (sideways roll) on the mat.
6. When they get to the end of the mat, they have to stand up right away and run to the next set of hoops, or to the beanbag safe zone.
7. When they get to the beanbag safe zone, they cannot get hit. They will pick up a beanbag and run back to their starting zone and place their beanbag down there, and go again. They have to run in front of the hoop/mat area.
8. The goal of the throwing team is to hit the rolling team with a dodge ball, below the knees.
9. However, when the rolling team is jumping in the hoops, rolling on the mat, or in either safe zone, they cannot be hit.
10. When running to the hoops, to the beanbag safe zone and back to their staring zone, they can get hit.
11. When participants are hit without a beanbag, they have to go back to the starting zone and start again.
12. When participants are hit with a beanbag, they have to drop the beanbag where they were hit, run back to the starting zone and start again. That beanbag can be picked up by a participant running from the beanbag safe zone to the starting safe zone, even if they have one in their hand already. If they get hit, they have to drop both beanbags.
13. When a participant on the throwing team throws a ball, they can go retrieve it, but they cannot throw the ball again until they are behind the throwing line.
14. Safety Rules: Only one participant is allowed to be on a mat at a time. Participants can stand in the last hoop waiting for a participant to finish rolling on the mat. There may have to be one participant standing in each hoop waiting for their turn to roll. Encourage participants to time when they are going to run to the hoops/mats.
15. When participants are on the mat, they have to get on, roll and get off without stopping.
16. Play for a set amount of time.
17. Then switch team rolls.
Variations:
Participants can be hit when they are in the hoops, but not when they are on the mat.
The rolling team will have one or two "protectors." These participants will stand in front of the hoops and mat area and can stop the balls from hitting the rollers.

"Throwing" team has to kick the ball (could use soccer balls).
Don't have the hoops before the mat. Create a safe zone using pylons in front of each mat, and if participants are standing in there, then they are safe. However, they have to go on the mat when it is their turn.
Don't have a throwing team. Set up two areas of hoops and mats. Make it a relay/race to see which teams can bring more beanbags to their side in a set amount of time.

Adaptations (General):
The coordination, dexterity and stamina required for this activity may be very challenging for many participants with disabilities. Encourage participants with disabilities to take part to the extent that they can. Provide additional support as necessary and emphasize safety first.
