Fundamental Skills (all optional):
Other Skills:
Coordination
Set up:
Have participants stand or sit in a circle.
Step by Step:
1. Each round, participants are going to count one at a time in a clockwise direction starting at one and going to a final number that the leader decides upon.
2. If the final number is fifteen, then when it gets to fifteen, that participant will say "Booyah!" instead of "fifteen".
3. Then that participant will select any number from one to fourteen and designate an exercise, action or word to that number. For example, they say "Five will now be two claps". That means that the participant will do two claps instead of saying five.
4. The leader or another participant can be writing down and keeping track of each number and the new action/exercise or word that each number represents.
5. Once they designate an exercise, action or word to a number, the game continues.
6. The participant to left of the participant that was just "fifteen" will start at one and the counting continues.
7. The participant will do two claps instead of saying five, and the next participant will continue counting from six.
8. The participant will say "Booyah!" instead of fifteen. Then they will select any number, besides fifteen and five, and designate an exercise, action or word to that number. For example, they say "For nine, you will now say Twizzler instead".
9. Continue counting and remember that five is two claps, nine you say "twizzler" and fifteen is "Booyah!" and stop.
10. If a participant does the wrong action/exercise, says the wrong word or says the number when they should be doing an action/exercise or saying a different word, then they are either out for the round or get a letter. When a participant spells a certain word ("Boo", for example), then they are out.
11. Continue until all the numbers are an exercise/action or word. Play again!
12. Example of actions/exercises and words:
- Clap
- Jumping jack
- Squat
- Push up
- Hop on one foot
- 360 spin
- Frog jump
- Touch your toes
- Touch head, shoulders, knees then toes
- Be a teacup
- Words can be almost anything:
- "Aycarumba!"
- "Oreo"
- "Butterfly"
Variations:
For older participants, have the final number be high. The more numbers, the more participants have to remember.
The leader can help participants come up with actions and/or words.
When a participant says a word, they have to do an action with it.
Give the participants a theme that the actions and/or words have to fall under. Examples: animals, summer time, space, sports and so on.
If outdoors or in a gym, then participants have to do an exercise or action (no words).
