Time Required: 15
Activity Type: Physical
Group Size: Large Group, Medium Group

Equipment: Hoops (approximately half or so as many as participants).
Rope or pylons to set boundaries.
Rubber chicken or another object for the alligator hunter to hold.
Objective:
For the Alligators to not get tagged by Alligator Hunter, and for the Alligator Hunter to tag the Alligators.
Other Skills:
Speed
Set up:
Set up the boundaries using rope or pylons or the lines in a gym.
Scatter the hoops inside the boundaries.
Step by Step:
1. Select one participant to start as the alligator hunter. Give them a rubber chicken or pinnie or anything else for them to hold to signify that they are the alligator hunter.
2. The rest of the participants (alligators) scatter around the play area. They can start inside a hoop, but there is only one participant allowed in a hoop at a time.
3. On the word 'Go' or 'Alligators are free!', the game begins.
4. The alligator hunter tries to tag the alligators. When they tag an alligator, that alligator becomes the new alligator hunter and then holds onto the object that signifies that they are the alligator hunter.
5. However, if an alligator is standing inside a hoop, they are safe and cannot be tagged.
6. They can only stay in a hoop for a maximum of 10 seconds.
7. They also have to leave the hoop immediately if another alligator runs into the hoop and says "see ya later alligator". Then that alligator is safe in the hoop, and the original alligator has to now find another hoop to steal or stand in while trying to not get tagged by the alligator hunter.
8. Gradually, the leader can start to take away hoops so it's harder for the alligators to hide.
9. Play for a determined amount of time.
Variations:
When an alligator is tagged, they then join the alligator hunter and try to tag other alligators. Last alligator remaining, wins.
When a participant is tagged, they are out of the game and have to stand outside the boundaries. Last alligator remaining wins.
Participants can only skip or hop.
