Equipment: 1 pinnie for all participants
5 hoops
Pylons or rope to mark off boundaries if necessary.
Objective:
For participants who are the "Eeyores" to not lose their tail, and for the tail catchers to try to take a participant's tail.
Other Skills:
Speed
Endurance
Set up:
Use the basketball court as boundaries, or place pylons/ropes to create boundaries the size of a basketball court.
Place 1 hoop at each corner of the play area, and 1 hoop in the centre.
Select two participants to be the tail catchers.
The rest of the participants are Eeyors, and they tuck a pinnie in their waistband to create their tail (make sure they are easily accessible)
Step by Step:
1. The two tail catchers start in the middle hoop.
2. The Eeyores scatter around the play area.
3. When the game begins, the tail catchers will run and try to steal a tail from any Eeyore.
4. When a tail catcher steals a tail, the Eeyore is now a tail catcher and has to run to the middle hoop, stand inside and say "New tail catcher".
5. The tail catcher that stole the tail, will place it in their waistband, and are now an Eeyore.
6. The four hoops on the corners are safe zones for Eeyores.
7. If an Eeyore runs into one of the hoops, they are safe and their tail cannot be stolen.
8. They can only stay in there for 10 seconds, or until another Eeyore runs into the hoop. As soon as another Eeyore runs into the hoop, the Eeyore that was in there first has to leave.
9. Tail catchers are not allowed to guard the hoops.
10. Play for a set amount of time.
Variations:
If a participant's tail is stolen, then they run and place it in the centre hoop and yell "new tail catcher", however the original tail catcher is still a tail catcher. Play until there is 1 participant remaining.
Take away some safe zones (hoops).
Have more than 2 tail catchers.

Adaptations (General):
Consider allowing participants with a disability, who may lack comparable stamina, to remain within the "safe zones" for longer than 10 seconds at a time.
