Equipment: Cones (for boundaries)
2 Pinnies per participant
1 ball for every 3 participants (or so)
A sunny day!
Objective:
For participants to throw a ball at another participant's shadow, and in turn collect the most pinnies.
Other Skills:
Speed
Set up:
Set up a boundary for this activity that is around the size of a gym.
Give each participant 2 pinnies, that they tuck into their shorts/pants waist.
Throw in 1 dodgeball for every 3 participants.
This activity needs to be played on a sunny day for the shadows to join.
Step by Step:
1. Participants who pick up a dodgeball have to run to another participant's shadow and throw the dodgeball directly on their shadow.
2. When they do, they yell "Shadowed" and take one of the pinnies from that participant.
3. The ball has to land directly on the shadow, and cannot bounce or hit the ground first.
4. Once a participant throws their ball, they cannot pick it up again.
5. Once the participant that had their shadow hit, gives their pinnie away, they can collect the ball (if no one else has in the mean time).
6. When a participant loses their second pinnie, they have to do 10 jumping jacks.
7. Now, their goal is to find a ball on the ground and use it to get someone's shadow to collect their pinnie.
8. Play for a set amount of time, and the participant(s) with the most pinnies, wins.
9. Could also play in teams, and each team will have different coloured pinnies. When a participant is hit, they have to put one of their pinnies out of play and the last team to have a pinnie in play wins. Or when a participant is hit, they give their pinnie to the participant that hit them and the team with the most pinnies at the end, wins.
Variations:
on't play with a dodge ball, play that a participant has to step on a participant's shadow. Play with more or less dodge balls, or with another type of ball.
Don't play with pinnies, and when a participant is tagged/ball is thrown on their shadow they are frozen, have to do 10 jumping jacks and so on.
Play with participants that are "It", and they are the only ones that are trying to step on or throw a ball at participant's shadows.
