Beach Ball Relay

Safety Considerations: Remove any safety hazards and obstacles from the play area.
Remind participants to be aware of their surroundings and to keep their head up.
Ensure the groups are spaced out.
Equipment: 1 beach ball per group of 3
2 cones per group
Objective:
Groups try to get the most consecutive beach ball hits.

Set up:
Divide participants into groups of 3, and give each group a beach ball.
Have each group find their own space in the field or gym. Place the two cones around 5-10 feet away from each other.
Step by Step:
1. Each group will start with two of the participants standing in a line behind one cone, and the third participant standing behind the cone across from it and facing their group members.
2. The first participant in the line of two, will start with the beach ball.
3. The first participant will throw the ball up and hit the beach ball towards the third participant (participant by themselves).
4. As soon as the first participant hits the beach ball, they run to the cone across from them.
5. The third participant will hit the beach ball, and as soon as they do, they will run behind the participant that is at the other cone.
6. That participant will hit the ball towards the now, third participant, and then run behind them, and so on.
7. Participants are allowed to hit the ball with any part of their body (head, legs, feet, knees, arms, hands), but they can only hit it once.
8. After they hit it once, the next participant has to hit it before it touches the ground.
9. Each group is trying to get the most consecutive hits.
Variations:
If this is too easy for participants, have them use a volleyball instead of the beach ball.
Also add a cone or rope that marks where the ball has to be hit over for each hit.
Participants are only allowed to use their hands (or another body part) to hit the beach ball.
