Equipment: 1 Frisbee per 2 (or 4) participants.
Rope
Pylons
Objective:
Participants pass the frisbee to their partner then run ahead to catch the frisbee that their partner will throw.
Other Skills:
Speed
Coordination
Set up:
Participants get into pairs.
Create a starting line and end line that are approximately 30-50 feet away.
Depending on the space and amount of pairs, set up pylons or rope that are perpendicular to the start and end lines to create sections for each pair.
Step by Step:
1. One participant from each pair will stand behind the starting line with the frisbee, and the other participant will start around 5-10 feet in front of them.
2. The first participant will throw the frisbee to their partner.
3. As soon as the participant catches the frisbee, the first participant will start to run past their partner and their partner will then throw the frisbee to them.
4. When a participant catches a frisbee, they have to stop running and can't take any steps until they throw the frisbee.
5. When the second participant throws the frisbee to their partner and they catch it, the second participant starts running past their partner in order to catch the frisbee.
6. The goal is for pairs to get past the finish line with the least amount of throws or with the quickest time.
7. If a participant doesn't catch a frisbee then both participants have to do 10 jumping jacks, go back to the start, go back to where the thrower threw from, or another consequence the leader decides upon.
8. Level 2 - Add defense.
9. Put two pairs together. One pair will start with the frisbee and start at one end of the activity, and the other pair will start at the other end of the activity space. The goal for each pair is to catch the frisbee past the line on the opposite side of where they started.
10. When the leader says, "Go", the pair with the frisbee will start throwing to one another.
11. The other pair will run down to the pair and try to intercept a pass. They have to give the participant throwing the frisbee at least an arms length of space. If the frisbee is not caught, then whichever pair picks it up, gains possession.
12. If the other team gains possession by intercepting a pass or picking it up, then they become offense and start throwing the frisbee to each other, while the other pair is trying to get it back.
Variations:
Have two participants throwing the frisbee and one participant as defense. If the defender gets the frisbee, then they can either become the receiver or thrower.
Set up obstacles in the activity area that participants have to try to avoid. Obstacles could by pylons or hoops that are scattered in the area.
Use a football, foam ball or another ball instead of a frisbee.
