Objective:
Participants play symbol chalk bingo and try to fill their board in with their beanbags.
Set up:
Divide participants into groups of 2-3 participants.
Each group will create a 4 by 3 grid using chalk. Ensure the all the grids are around the same size.
Each group should have 12 beanbags. If there are not enough beanbags, then participants can use rocks or other objects to keep in the squares.
The leader will have symbols drawn on pieces of paper inside a hat or bowl (please see step by step section for list of symbols).
Step by Step:
1. Each group will have their own grid with 4 squares by 3 squares; this is their symbol chalk bingo card.
2. The leader will have a list of symbols that participants can choose from (examples of symbols are listed at the end of this section)
3. Groups select 12 symbols that they will use out of all the symbols provided.
4. Groups draw one symbol in each square.
5. Place a pylon around 5 feet behind each bingo card.
6. Each group should have 12 beanbags.
7. The leader will draw a symbol from the hat/bowl.
8. If the leader draws the diamond symbol, then they say "diamond".
9. All groups that have a diamond in one of their boxes, will throw a beanbag from their pylon and try to get it to land in their diamond.
10. If the first participant in the group misses, then the next participant tries. Each participant in each group gets a chance to throw a beanbag in the square.
11. Participants leave the beanbag that landed in the diamond square, and collect any other beanbags that missed.
12. If all participants threw a beanbag, and none made it in the square, then they take back all beanbags.
13. The leader will draw another symbol from the hat/bowl and the same process occurs.
14. Leaders will put the symbols back in the hat, because if a group missed the symbol the first time, they have another opportunity to throw their beanbag in that square.
15. Each round groups could have to get a straight line across, a straight line down, a diagonal line, 4 corners, two lines down, two lines across, or the full card to get BINGO.
16. When a group has bingo, they yell "BINGO!" or "SYMBOL BINGO" or "SYMBINGO"
17. Play another round!
18. Examples of symbols:
Square
Circle
Diamond
Sun
Crescent moon
Star

Variations:
Create bigger or smaller grids.
Tell groups all the symbols to use, but they choose which square they go into.
Have two groups at one grid and the first group to get their beanbag to land in the right square, gets control of that square. At the end, the group with the most beanbags in the grid wins.
