Equipment: Beanbags (different colours)
Ropes/Pylons (optional)
Hoop (optional)
Objective:
The offensive partner collects and brings back their beanbag, while the defensive partner tries to prevent other offensive players from returning their beanbag.
Other Skills:
Speed
Set up:
Participants get into pairs. One participant will start as offense and the other participant will start as defense.
Using lines in a gym or rope/pylons, set up two lines that are approximately 20 meters apart. One end will be where the offensive participants start, and the other end will be the back line and have 1 beanbag for each pair (different colours).
Place a hoop behind the offensive participants' line (optional).
The defensive participants will start between the two lines.
Step by Step:
1. The goal for each offensive participant is to bring their beanbag to the hoop, or bring it across the offensive participants' line.
2. The goal for the defensive participants is to tag the other offensive participants.
3. Each pair will have their own coloured beanbag (or differentiate beanbags by drawing or taping a letter/symbol/drawing/number to the beanbag).
4. When the activity begins, all offensive players will begin to run to their beanbag.
5. If a participant is tagged before they have their beanbag, then they have to go back to the starting line before going again.
6. When participants pick up their beanbag, they begin to run back to their line.
7. If a participant is tagged while they have their beanbag, then they go back to the back line with their beanbag and start again.
8. When a participant gets past the offensive line with their beanbag, they place it in the hoop. That participant's defensive partner can no longer tag participants and joins them outside of the boundaries.
9. The last participant to bring their beanbag to the hoop is out for the remainder of the game or they don't get a point.
10. If they are out for the remainder of the game, then the next round there will be one less pair, and the next round there will be another pair out, and this will continue until there is only one pair left.
11. If playing by points, then the first 2 (or so) pairs to bring back their beanbag get 3 points, the next 2 (or so) get 2 points, the next 2 get 1 point and the last pair gets no points.
12. The pair with the most points at the end of a set amount of rounds wins, or the team to get 10 points (or another amount) first will win.
13. After each round, the partners switch offensive and defensive roles.
Variations:
When a participant is tagged, they become frozen and their defensive partner has to give them a high five/crawl under their legs/run around them one time, or another way to unfreeze them.
Play with groups of 3, and each round one participant from each group sits out.
Consider having a participant with a disability take the place of the bean bag (e.g., the goal would be for the offensive player and participant with a disability to cross the offensive line together).

Consider modifying the game so that there are two offensive and two defensive players on each team. One of the offensive participants, and one defensive participant must be blindfolded. The two offensive and defensive partners must remain together in attempting to collect and/or prevent collection of the bean bag.
